It doesn’t tell them, though, enough about the amazing things that you’ve accomplished at past jobs. One of the most important pieces of job search advice today is to craft a resume that lists not only where you’ve worked, but what you accomplished while working there.
As an example, if you created a new service offering that added $50,000 to your company’s bottom line every year, mention that in your resume. If you headed up the team that created a marketing message that boosted sales by 30 percent annually, include that information in your resume.

Finally, don’t forget the power of social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. These sites allow you to instantly tell hundreds of business associates that you are on the search for a job. Consider this high-tech networking; you never know when one of these contacts will have a hot job lead for you.
You can also use LinkedIn to follow employees of those companies at which you’d like to work. Then, if you do earn an interview at one of these potential employers, you’ll be able to arrive at the interview armed with inside knowledge that might set you apart from other job applicants.
