Learn how to Job Search! We Need Confident Consumers

Get Hired Fast - how to job searchIt’s important to learn how to job search effectively in today’s hiring market. After all, even with the national unemployment rate down to 7.9 percent, there might still be hundreds of applicants trying to land those same jobs you find on even the best job search sites.

But by knowing how to job search for today’s jobs market, you can bypass this competition and instead apply for jobs that the majority of job seekers will never even hear about.

And this is important. If you succeed and land a job, you’ll become a more confident consumer. After all, you’ll have a regular salary.

Today, the United States needs more confident consumers. It’s what makes the economy go.

Consumer Confidence

Just consider a recent story by the Reuters news service. Reuters cites a late burst in consumer spending as one of the reasons why the U.S. economy grew at a two percent clip in the third quarter of this year.

That growth rate surprised analysts who were expecting the economy to grow at a pace more in line with the 1.3 percent growth the country saw in the second quarter of this year.

The Reuters story says that consumers went on a shopping spree in the third quarter, buying everything from automobiles to the iPhone 5.

Your Confidence

What does this have to do with you? You can join the growing number of confident consumers if your career search nets you a new job. And the best way to run a successful career and job search today is to focus on one thing: networking.

That may sound like a broken record. After all, everyone says that the best way to find a job is to enlist the help of your business contacts. Thing is, it’s true.

Your former boss might be willing to introduce you to a high-level executive at a company in your field. When that company suddenly has a job opening three weeks later, that executive might call you in for an interview. A job offer isn’t guaranteed, but you do gain an advantage over anyone else who might interview.

Maybe you schedule a lunch meeting with some former co-workers. They might know of companies that are planning to expand. Again, you can contact hiring managers at these companies before they post any help-wanted ads online. You might give yourself an advantage.
